Cottage Description

A delightful hamper of locally sourced produce and Honeymug's tasteful and stylish interior will give you just the welcome you need at your journey's end. Perfect for families, small groups and couples, you will enjoy total relaxation in Honeymug. Situated in the heart of Northumberland, with the Cheviot Hills on your doorstep and just a short drive from the most spectacular coastline and glorious sandy beaches, you will be truly spoilt for choice when deciding how to spend your days.

Honeymug is arranged in an upside down fashion - giving light and spacious living accomodation upstairs which is just perfect for relaxing after a busy day and a lovely family meal. The lounge area, with its characterful wooden beams, log burning stove and comfy seating is perfect for a cosy evening of quiet relaxation or family fun. There is a bookcase brimming with books, a large flat-screen TV, a DVD player, iPod dock, CD/radio and a selection of games and magazines.

The dining kitchen contains plenty of space for a family of six to eat around a lovely, wooden table. All the equipment you might need is on hand to help make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. There is a washer/dryer, dishwasher and fridge-freezer as well as a kettle, toaster and microwave and a wide selection of cooking equipment and utensils.

Downstairs the master bedroom includes a king-size bed and en-suite shower and WC. There are two further twin rooms and a family bathroom that has a shower over bath. You will find lots of storage space too to help keep your things tidy and give that real 'home from home' feel.

We are certain that a stay in Honeymug will be a breathtaking experience in itself...but the icing on the cake will come in the form of the on-site leisure facilities, provided by Breamish Valley Cottages and fully available to Honeymug guests. You will find a good-sized heated swimming pool, state-of-the-art gym, sauna, steam room and hot tub which are all available for you to use from early morning until late evening. Our words alone can't possibly do these facilities justice so do take a good look at the photos above!

If that's not enough for you - you will also find an all weather tennis court, mini-golf, croquet lawn and a stunning lake to take a stroll around and perhaps do a spot of bird watching from the hide.

If you're bringing children they will absolutely love the games room - where little ones and adults alike can enjoy a game of pool, table-tennis, air hockey, table football or just chill out on the big sofas and watch TV.

There is also a wooden adventure playground, trampoline, small football pitch, a play house and a selection of ride-on toys.

We're sure you will agree that a stay in Honeymug has something for absolutely everyone!

The heating in Honeymug is by means of oil-fired central heating, the cost of which, as well as the leisure facilities and the provision of linen and towels, is included in the price.

The owners of Honeymug regret that due to restrictions on the site, no pets will be allowed.

**PLEASE NOTE - between the dates of 4-21 January 2018 the leisure facilities (pool, gym, spa, steam room) on site will be closed for renovation. The other facilities - the games room, tennis court, play area etc will be open as normal. You can still book the cottage at this time and we can offer these nights at half price - please enquire for further details.

The Local Area

Set in the tranquil hamlet of Branton, Honeymug offers so much to do on site that it would be easy to forget that you are situated in the middle of some of the most stunning countryside imaginable.

Honeymug is in a great location to experience the very best that Northumberland has to offer. With the National Park, encompassing the Cheviot Hills, so near-by, you will never be short of a walking or cycling trail.

You are also less than a 30 minute drive from the Northumberland Coast and its designated area of outstanding natural beauty. It certainly won't take you long to realise why it's classified as such when you see some of the magnificent sandy beaches and the beautiful coastal towns and villages.

The town of Alnwick is also just a 15 minute drive away and its fabulous castle and gardens are certainly a 'must see'!
